Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

The Couch to 5K coach you select talks to you during your workouts. To save your battery, Couch to 5K sends audio notifications when your screen is locked or another app is in use.

To be sure you hear the coach during your workout, please do the following:
• Turn on Notifications permissions
• Turn on the hardware ring/silent switch (no red showing)
• Turn your ringer volume up
• Turn off Do Not Disturb (swipe up for Control Panel and the moon button should not be white)
• Within the app, in Settings > Workout Options, be sure the Trainer Volume is up

Without granting notification permissions, during a workout you can click the lock icon at the top left to keep the app active and still hear the coach.

Couch to 5K® - Run training app good for

I used to be one of those lazy potatoes that would laugh and introduce themselves with a « I’m not very sporty, you know! », even though one part of me knew that my life would be much better with some exercise: for my mood, my heart, my breath, my weigh maintenance as I get older, my strength… For years I’ve had many attempts, but they all failed! Now I realize this is because I was going too hard at the beginning and lost my energy and motivation too quickly as a result… This app gave me a structure to follow and made me believe that my body was physically able to do it! I used to go red, out of breath and with chest pain after running for 5 minutes! Now I can easily run 20 minutes straight without 1 drop of sweat, I’ve already run as far as for 45 minutes and I believe I can even do more than that! All I’m saying is, if you’re bored of feeling like you’re going to die when going up the stairs, you know what you should do...
I love this app. It motivates me every time to keep on doing the C25k run. Especially the "halfway there" info is helpful.
This app has really motivates me to get back on the running trail after the birth of my first child. Thank you!!

Great tool for motivating someone who runs very little or not at all, to become someone who can do a 5k
Gradual build up creates feeling of accomplishment which in turn motivates one to continue. Great for getting back in shape. One negative is its sensitivity while running when not locked. Hate how it can skip ahead or back to next activity so easily. A cure for this would be to put more info on the locked screen.

Some bad moments

The voice stop after halfway of the workout... Please fix the bug
Latest update locked me out and made me set a new log in now as soon as the app opens it closes again immediately. Was the Special K sponsorship worth it? I don’t think so.
The update crashed the app. It closes as soon as I open it and is unusable. I have three years worth of data on there...
Ive used this app for a long time and I always liked it, but Im really disappointed with the latest update. When I went for my run yesterday, I had to register to be able to use the app. Whats up with that? They could at least have made it a facultative feature. And to add the insult to the injury, the app is now filled with Kellogs ads. I paid for this app, I expect it to be ad free.
The latest update completely disabled my app, holding it for ransom unless I signed up for another service. Even when I attempted to login through Facebook (not that this app deserves that information), the signup didnt work. Avoid this app until they treat their users with respect, instead of a treasure trove of data mining.
Niestety, GPS nie działa na iphone 4. Unfortunately, GPS does not work on iphone 4. I have the yellow dot all the time.
